This is Alstad

Cory Alstad is a Canadian musician and composer based out of Vancouver, Canada. To date his music has been streamed nearly 60 million times on the world's biggest platforms and has been featured on national and international television and radio. As an accomplished pianist, he generally writes in the Contemporary Classical genre and enjoys writing emotionally evocative music that tells a story.

Cory releases music under a variety of monikers including Alstad, Henri Bentley, Clarico, Floodplain, Billie Ivory and others. His music has been featured on notable editorial playlists on Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music and other streaming platforms.

Raised in a musical family, Cory began taking piano lessons at the age of 7. Despite his reluctance and frequent pleas to quit, his parents insisted he continue, a decision for which he is now grateful. He progressed through Royal Conservatory of Music, and by his teenage years, he was recognized as a talented young musician with a distinctive ear for spontaneously creating new melodies. Although this spontaneity drove his piano teachers nuts, it began to serve him well in the musical community.

Cory received his Bachelor of Music from the University of Manitoba and spent several years working as the Music Director at a few different churches. In 2019, after being inspired by the soundtrack of the TV series "Broadchurch," he ventured into the neoclassical instrumental genre. This shift felt like a natural progression, as he realized he had been composing similar music throughout his life.

In the fall of 2019, Cory released his first instrumental album marking a significant milestone in his career. Since then, he has established himself as a prolific and well-recognized composer in the neoclassical genre, continually creating evocative and beautiful music.
